In 1972 the future was 2010.
In 1968 2001 A Space Odyssey was also very futuristic. But why is it that most articles about the future seem to focus on what technology we will be using rather than on who will be using it?
I wrote a blog post on my personal blog, www.ricvatner.com.au about this topic after reading Daniel Sinker’s post about the book 2010 – Living in the future which was written in 1972 (and I bet 2010 seemed like a long way off then). I intend to write a philosophical article on the topic for this blog in the near future.
However I thought I would flag the subject so you can have a think about it as well.

Basically I would like to ask you how you see man developing in the next 50 or 100 years? Not from a technological point of view but rather how do you feel man will evolve “sociologically” over the next 50 to 100 years? Will all the problems we face today; economic, global warming, population and environmental, change us for the better or worse or not at all? Will we still be here in a hundred years?
